Needing some fun Valentine’s gift ideas for your family? Here are some of my favourite items (both free and purchased!)
Table of Contents

Has Valentine’s Day become a money grab? My husband would say yes and many other people would probably agree with him!
I am on the fence. I don’t like spending excessive money or accumulating random things that collect dust. That being said, some people’s love language is gift giving/receiving!
And if we want to show love on Valentine’s Day we might have to give gifts as a way of expressing our love.
So here are a few ideas for gifts, both free and purchased!

Valentine’s Gift Ideas for Your Family
Taco vs. Burrito
We recently found this game and our whole family loves it! My two-year-old is still a little young for it but he sits on my lap and holds the cards with me.
It’s an easy game to catch on to with simple strategy that a five-year-old can figure out and an adult will enjoy.

This game is a purchase to make for your family and will offer quality time that you can spend together!

Fun Hand Towels
As I said, I don’t like accumulating random things, I like practical gifts. These hand towels are soft, and cute and make a fun family gift.

I love them for drying my face. I got them for my kids but I’ve snagged one for myself and use it everyday!

Loved to Life
This book by Ann Voskamp is being released just before Valentine’s Day and is the perfect gift for someone looking for a devotional to do during lent (hello mom gift!)
Share your love, and God’s love with this beautiful book.

Donut Date
This book is a great way to connect with your kids and record the things they say. I love asking my boys little questions and hearing their answers. But most of all, we love spending quality time together.

Tool Storage
Give the gift of organization this year with this handy tool storage case! It’s great because it can stack so multiple bags can be stored, and save space!

Free Gift Ideas
Many of these gift ideas that are purchased will create free gifts later on! Children who enjoy quality time will be able to play games with you or spend time answering questions.
But for other ideas that don’t cost money try these:
- Bake a cake or cupcakes and let your family decorate it together
- Make pizza together (check out my bread maker pizza dough recipe)
- Grab a jar, get some slips of paper and write the things you love about the person you are giving the jar to
- Offer to do a job or task for someone (put the garbage out, make their bed, etc)
- Make your Valentine’s meal something silly, like only red foods or ice cream!
- Put a heart on your child’s door everyday leading up to Valentine’s Day (grab the free printable here)
- Have a family movie night where you eat dinner in front of the TV
- (For older kids) Have a living room sleepover where they get to stay up late to watch a movie in their sleeping bag and stay there all night!
Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be all about gifts and mushy, gushy stuff. Make it about sharing your love with your family in the way that makes them feel the most loved!
