A Christian home should be brimming with the joy of Christmas spirit around the holidays. But what does a Christmas home look like when you are trying to remember Jesus? How can you focus your festivities on His birth with so many worldly distractions? Let’s explore ways to enjoy the nativity and bring Jesus into your home this Christmas.

When I talk about building a Christian home or a Christian space, it’s more than just the physical or interior design of your dwelling. Your home is an extension of your heart, a place of rest where your family can find peace and security after a long day.

At Christmas time, we want to emphasize the birth of Jesus, the love, joy, peace and hope He brought and continues to bring to the world. We want our homes to exude that, to let the story we’ve heard a thousand times remind us why we rejoice during these days.

Christmas has become very commercialized, a holiday that makes money but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy it. God sent Jesus and just as we celebrate birthdays, we should celebrate His birthday too!

This season is for Him. All our baking, decorating, singing and family time should tie back to his birth. That is the reason for our hope, love, peace and joy.
