When God has a purpose for us, do we jump up and say “send me!” Or do we drag our feet and look to see if someone else can go in our place?
And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.”
Isaiah 6:8
Sometimes we just don’t want to do it. Don’t want to get out of bed, don’t want to go out, don’t want to exercise…don’t want to show up. We’re tired, run-down, need a break, dare I say it, lazy.
We’ve all been there. We have to decide whether we’ll sit where it’s comfortable or get up and do what needs to be done. It can feel exhausting trying to get organized when you just don’t want to do it. That’s where we need to stop ourselves. That’s where we need to consider why we need to go.

What is the benefit of the effort? Will there be a positive result? Why should we put in the time?
Because we need to show up for God.

When God has a task, the best reply, even when you are afraid, is “send me for your purpose.”
Show Up For God’s Purpose
We go and do things because we don’t know where or how God will use us. He may need us in a situation to help someone, be a light for someone or just be present for someone.
Could God use someone else? Sure. There are millions of people in the world, He could choose someone else. But God chose you. He chose you to go, He called you.
Don’t forget who He made you to be. And if you aren’t sure, go back to His word to be reminded!
We don’t know what He’s calling us to do and unless we go, unless we show up, we miss an opportunity for God to use us. More than that, we miss an opportunity for God to show us great and wonderful things!
So pick yourself up, put your shoes on and show up for God. Be His hands and feet. Be the light He needs to shine in a certain situation. Remember we may not always see what His plan is, it might appear that we showed up for nothing but God is always working behind the scenes. Let that be the encouragement you need to show up for God and let Him work miracles!

Are you ready to tackle God’s purpose for your life? Are you ready to step forward and say “Here I am send me,” even when you can’t see the path in front of you?
God has plans and purposes for all of us, if we only reach out our hand and let God take us to them!
