Let’s pause for a minute and find some joy in our day! Look around, what makes you smile? These are the little blessings that God has given us to make our day a little brighter.

The works of his hands are faithful and just;
Psalms 111:7
all his precepts are trustworthy;
Do you ever find day-to-day life getting monotonous? Your schedule and routine are the same and you feel like you are going through the motions?
This happens even in the busiest of jobs (like motherhood!) You find your groove, something that keeps your day running smoothly and you stick to it. That doesn’t mean it won’t get a little bit boring.
Motherhood burnout is a real thing. Life burnout is a real thing! We get ourselves wrapped up in everything and forget to find the goodness in our lives.
What do we do about it? How do we slow the ride down so we don’t miss all the wonderful things we have around us?
Stop and Smile!
The solution? Find things that make you smile and then smile! Take a minute to enjoy the things around you.
Birds chirping, a warm kitchen, a sleeping dog, a playing child. Whatever it is, stop and smile.
One thing that makes me smile every day is the daily school bus drop-off. My one-year-old is obsessed with buses and loves pointing them out. It’s so sweet and it always makes me smile whenever he does it. I look forward to that time when we see the bus and there is excitement.
I know it’s God’s way of showing me how much He loves us. The little things that make us smile are reminders of God’s faithfulness. He cares about us and wants us to lead joyful lives.
Joy can be in small everyday moments. It doesn’t have to be a big party or outing. There is joy all around.
I try to find these happy moments and thank God for them. In the daily routine that I keep, laundry, meals, errands and meltdowns, I know God is still faithful. He wants to show that to me, I just have to be ready to see it!
I hope you keep your smile ready and thank God for his faithfulness! He shows us His love everyday, we just have to keep our hearts open to seeing it. So keep your eyes open, be ready to smile and thank God this week for all He has done!
