You Are Not Failing as a Mom…
When in doubt, seek the Lord and let Him deliver you from your fears!

You are not failing as a mom, and here are the verses to encourage you!
When you feel overwhelmed or inadequate…
Isaiah 40:29 (NIV)
“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.”
Pray: “Lord, I feel tired and stretched thin. Be my strength today.”
It may not feel like God has added any extra strength to your morning cup of coffee, but He has! God will give your weary soul all the strength or endurace or patience that it needs for the day.
Sometimes it means resting in His presence, seeking His power but remembering that your weakness does not mean you are incapable can change your perspective. You are not failing as a mom just because you feel overwhelmed, this is where you open up the lines for God to step in and restore you!
You are not failing as a mom if you tell your family you need to spend time in prayer, being renewed by your Heavenly Father!

When you feel like you’re not enough…
2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV)
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
Pray: “Jesus, cover my gaps with your grace. Be strong where I am weak.”
I love this verse, especially now in motherhood when some days I feel ill-equipped to raise my children. And yet, it is in my weakness, my failures that God plants seeds that grow and bloom into beautiful things.
It is here, where I admit to myself and my family that I am not perfect and I need forgiveness, that they see how God picks up my broken pieces and puts them together again. They see His mercy and strength through the cracks in my human capacities. And that is a wonderful thing.
When you’re burdened by guilt or shame…
Romans 8:1 (NIV)
“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
Pray: “God, remind me I’m not condemned—I’m covered.”
Did you forget an important item in your laundry load? Did you yell at your kids for not cleaning up fast enough? Did you leave a sarcastic remark with your husband? You are not failing as a mom if you do these things!
There are so many things that leave us feeling guilty or shameful in a day and we have to remind ourselves that Jesus came to forgive, not to condemn. As long as we seek forgiveness and strive to catch ourselves before we make the same mistakes again, we are not condemned or deemed unworthy.

When you’re hard on yourself…
Zephaniah 3:17 (NIV)
“The Lord your God is with you… He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.”
Pray: “Father, help me see myself the way You see me.”
I love this verse for so many reasons. I love the idea that God takes great delight over us, that He would rejoice and sing because we belong to Him. And so shouldn’t we do the same? Shouldn’t we jump for joy at the gift we have of being our Heavenly Father’s child?
We don’t need to put ourselves down or rebuke our efforts because we made a mistake, we need to seek the joy God has for our lives because He is the ultimate joy!
When you’re confused…
Proverbs 3:5–6 (NIV)
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Pray: “God, direct my steps. I trust You even when I can’t see clearly.”
When the world tells you something, when social media makes you fearful, when you wonder if you are doing the right parenting style…trust in the Lord.
When we are walking His righteous path and reading His truths everyday, we can lean on His understanding. The more we steep in His word the more His word becomes rooted in our hearts and lodged into our subconscious thoughts. So instead of wondering if we are doing the right thing, feeling confused or disheartened, we can trust that our paths are made straight if we follow Him.

When you feel lost in the chaos…
Exodus 33:14 (NIV)
“My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
Pray:”Lord be with me in the busyness of the day so I can feel your presence.”
Our children can have a way of making us feel like a stranger in our own home. The chaos can feel overwhelming, with toys and dishes and laundry in every corner. And yet our Lord gives us rest in these chaotic moments. His presence can be felt even when it seems impossible to have any sort of peace.
Seek Him as you step into the chaos, whether it’s joyful chaos or just the regular kind, let God’s presence renew you with every step you take.
When you’re desperate for peace…
Philippians 4:6–7 (NIV)
“Do not be anxious about anything… and the peace of God… will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.“
Pray: “Guard my heart, Lord. Let Your peace take over the pressure.”
Just a moment of peace can feel like a breath of fresh air for moms. The days start to blur together, the arguments, the bickering, the “Why did you make this again?” And sometimes you just wish there could be a little extra peace in your cup of tea.
And yet God has guarded your heart with peace. When you wake in the morning, He will clothe you in love, pateience and peace if you ask Him. Pray this prayer before you greet your children and remind yourself and your family that you are a home of peace and harmony!

Be Encouraged
You are not failing as a mom. There may be bad days (or weeks) but if you wake in the morning seeking God’s wisdom, then you simply cannot fail. If you speak truth over your children and pray as they leave the house, if you anoint your home with scriptures and seek God’s joy in your day to day tasks, then there is no room for failure.
Just days where you live and learn, seek forgiveness and teach your children that a Christian mom is a mom who makes mistakes but still gets up and keeps serving her family and God. There is no failure in that.
