What are faith-filled spaces? It sounds lofty and wonderful but what exactly does it look like, feel like, what exactly is it?
People throw the word faith around loosely. But for Christians, it shouldn’t be used lightly. And when we talk about faith-filled spaces, we definitely need to take it seriously because it is the everlasting life of our family we are building.

Building faith-filled spaces means seeking God in all things!
Hebrews 11:1 says faith is the assurance of things unseen. It isn’t a shrug of the shoulders saying “I guess God will take care of it,” it is a statement made without a question, “God WILL take care of this.”
This is the sort of finality we need in our homes. A space that is filled with the assurance that our Heavenly Father is not only present but also working within our walls.
When we build a home of love, we teach our children to love like Jesus loves. We grow a tree that has strong roots so we grow good fruit.
But we also have to build homes of faith.
A faith-filled space is where we can wholly trust God in everything. We surrender our hopes and dreams, laying them down before Him and letting Him guide us.
This is where our children learn about this faith. When they see their mom and dad trusting God, giving their hearts to Him in every situation, they learn about unwavering faith and about God’s trustworthy promises.

My Faith-Filled Spaces
I grew up in several faith-filled spaces.
My parents set a wonderful example.
I spent time at a family-owned ranch that set a wonderful example.
I billeted with a family that set a wonderful example.
The biggest thing I learned in my faith-filled spaces was how God took care of their every need. They discussed the issue, they prayed over the issue and then they let God take over.
And you know what happened? God made it work. God provided finances, He provided resources, He provided strength, He provided healing…whatever it was, God provided.
When I left home, I stepped out into the world and walked on this faith. When I look back I blink in disbelief at some of the choices I made. Not bad decisions, just choices that when I look back at them, I see it was faith that kept me above the waves and God that kept my boat afloat.
And why was my faith strong enough to take jobs provinces away? Why was my faith strong enough for this little introvert to live with strangers and start over in small towns?
Because I had grown up with it and I had no reason to doubt God.

Faith-filled spaces are places where your family can tangibly touch the trust you have in your Heavenly Father. They see it in the way you act, the way you love and the way you make decisions!
Teach Your Children About Faith
This is why we build Christian homes, why we build spaces filled with unwavering trust in God.
It is having faith that what we hope for, what we cannot see will be made true.
We want our children to have no doubt in their mind that their Heavenly Father is working for their good, in every situation (Romans 8:28).
When they see difficulties, and yes they should be exposed to difficulties, they learn how to overcome them. They learn the prayers to pray, the scriptures to read and they learn the feeling of releasing control and handing it to God.
They see this, they hear the Bible stories about casting nets on the other side or marching around a wall until it falls down. The little love seed that we plant sprouts in their heart and starts to grow roots of faith.
And in your home, your faith-filled home, they get to use this faith. They see how deep and wide their Heavenly Father’s love is for them. Their soul learns to yearn for the only fulfillment they will find in this earthly life; Jesus.

Making It Home
Make it home, a home filled with love and growing deep roots of faith. Let there be no room for doubt within your walls. The Holy Spirit it present, when sleeping or awake. The presence of ultimate peace is in every room you go into.
Speak love and faith into your children. Teach them to seek God above anything else. In all situations look to Him.
And remember your home full of love is a home that will grow in faith because if you abide in God’s love, He abides in you and when we seek Him continually we grow in faith!
