So you read my post about Pumpkin Spice Pudding and you’re not about pumpkin spice. I get it. It’s not for everyone. But chocolate, that’s something most people can get behind!
Here we are again with the not so secret ingredient (cottage cheese)! This time we’re making a delicious chocolate dessert! I even made my husband a believer. He hates cottage cheese, won’t even look at it, but this, he eats this.
This mousse is rich, definitely more of a dessert than a snack. And it is so so good.
It’s so easy to make, I whipped some upon the other night after supper. I needed a little treat because the toddler was being, well a toddler. He’s on this back talk kick and it’s exhausting trying to be patient with him.
My husband would say he gets the sass from me but this is a level beyond even me.
Anyways we had chocolate mousse after E went to bed, while holding baby B of course. By we, I mean me. I bought Froot Loops as a treat for my husband so he had a salad bowl size for his snack while I had the mousse. Quite the combination we are at 7:30pm before heading off to bed!
I don’t feel so bad eating this mousse because cottage cheese has a lot of health benefits. Plus it’s high in protein. Not a bad after dinner treat. If you don’t believe cottage cheese can taste good, you should try this!

Chocolate Mousse
Makes 2 servings
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup cottage cheese
- 1/4 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 TBSP coconut oil
- 1/4 tsp vanilla
Directions
- Melt chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave safe bowl. I usually heat it for 30 seconds, stir and do another 30 seconds. Let it cool slightly.
- With a blender, food processor or immersion blender, combine cottage cheese, melted chocolate and vanilla. Blend until smooth. Do not over blend or the cottage cheese will liquify.
- Refrigerate until firm (two to three hours or overnight). Enjoy!
Note: You can eat this as soon as you blend it but it is better when chilled.
If you prefer a richer mousse, increase your chocolate chips by a TBSP and your coconut oil by a tsp.
