giving it to God

Motherhood days are long and busy. Trying to manage everything alone is, impossible! Giving it to God is the best (and only) way to handle the frustrations and struggles that come with the territory!

As moms we do a lot in our days. We juggle kids, cleaning, meals, running errands…the list is never ending. We squeeze in time with God, pray and perhaps recite scripture as we run from here to there. Have we ever considered casting these cares on the Lord?

You got this mama!

Giving It To God

We can’t ask God to vacuum for us, or put away the laundry but we can ask him to lift the burdens of our hearts. Simple things, like managing a cranky toddler, soothing a fussy baby, easing a physical ailment.

I was in the shower when this dawned on me. I had yet another blocked milk duct, my toddler was throwing tantrums like it was his job and the baby did not want to sleep. These all seemed like “me” problems, things I had to solve. But they weren’t!

I mean God gave me these children right? And He doesn’t give us wonderful gifts without some help in managing them! In fact there is no where in the Bible where God says “I am giving this to you and walking away.”

Quite the opposite!

In fact it says right in Psalm 55:22 that He will sustain you, He won’t let you be moved!

Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you. He will never permit the righteous to be moved.

Psalm 55:22

Cast Your Burden on God

Did you give it to God Mama? Share this post to remind a mom that giving it to God will make their day lighter!

So I cast the burdens on God. I put them in his hands for the day. Did I see a miracle that day? No. But I didn’t feel as run down as some days. I had someone there with me, reminding me that he was holding the burden so I could handle the situation.

Let me say that again, God carried the burden I could not. He shouldered the things that were not mine to shoulder, He did not let me crumble under the weight of motherhood.

Because yes, motherhood is a weight and giving it to God is the only way we will not be crushed by it.

The worry and pain, the uncertainty and overwhelm, it can drown the best of us if we don’t have God taking the things we can’t manage.

This is what God wants us to do. To cast our cares on him. He doesn’t make our days difficult because he doesn’t love us, but the difficulties are what draw us to him. It reminds us that while we can try to do it alone, it’s better when he is there lifting our hearts.

Do you feel like you’re drowning in everyday tasks? Like no one cares? Be sure to check in with God. Ask him to take those cares, ease your load and fill you with strength. He wants to help but we have to ask!
