Decorating your space is more than an opportunity to infuse personality and life into your home. It’s an intentional time to put God’s word within your space! Here are 5 Bible verses to hang in your home and why they are important!
This isn’t a “hope, faith, love” situation where you pick up something cute from the home decor store and throw it on your wall. This is an intentional choosing of scriptures to put in your home which reinforce your space being for God.

What to Think About Before Hanging Verses
I’m not going to tell you what is the latest style decor or colour of the year. I’m not even going to tell you what rooms to put these in, but instead when it comes to bible verses to hang in your home it’s more about intentionality. It’s knowing who your family is, what they need and where they need it!
Not everyone has a dedicated play room (we don’t!) and my kids don’t typically play in their rooms. Our living room is the multipurpose space and so I look for decor and verses that will suit those needs.

Bible Verses to Hang in Your Home
Numbers 6:24
The Lord bless you and keep you.
This is one verse in a longer blessing which you are welcome to use (Numbers 6:24-26) but I like the first verse because it is short and sweet and a wonderful blessing to have over your home.
Sometimes we don’t need long winded scriptures or words, we need a simple reminder that the Lord is with us, keeping us safe! When it comes to verses to hang in your home, sometimes short and sweet is best!
Deuteronomy 6:5
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul and all your might.
Another verse that is part of a longer passage, which I highly recommend reading and meditation on (Deuteronomy 6:5-9). These verses are foundational for a Christian home and how God wants us to behave.
It is love that should be spoken of in our homes. God’s love, His deep, wide, unshakable love. (Check out my post “To Be Chosen By God is More Than Love” to help your children understand how deep God’s love is for them)
Lamentations 3:23
His mercies are new every morning.
A new day with no mistakes in it yet (as Anne from Anne of Green Gables would say)!
Honestly, I would put this verse over my coffee maker so when I stumble into the kitchen, I can be reminded that God made this day and it is full of His mercy and love.
Hebrews 3:4
Every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything.
A favourite verse of my children because they are active builders. Blocks, magnetic tiles, lego…you name it, they will build with it! And they love hearing that God made them to build with their hands, but also that He Himself built everything!
Our homes may have been built by humans but it is God who lays the foundation for our lives. Keep this verse tucked close to your heart and home to be reminded of your house’s foundation!
Psalms 92:2
Declare His steadfast love in the morning, and His faithfulness by night.
Do you sing in the shower? Or hum a tune while getting dressed?
I have a song on my lips for the majority of my day, unless I am writing (like right now), I typically am singing and humming. Some of my favourite songs are worship songs so I can declare God’s love and faithfulness.
Sometimes we need this reminder in our home. Maybe in the bathroom where we are getting ready for the day and then again for bed. Or maybe in our bedroom, or perhaps in our hallway as we walk by!

Scripture Infused Space
Hanging verses in your home is what infuses your space with God’s word. It reminds us who our house is built on, the strong foundation that cannot be moved!
As you grow in faith and as a family, grow your space for God too. Make it known that the four walls you inhabit are an offering to God. A place where you worship, seek joy and find peace. Use these verses to hang in your home as a constant reminder!
