I’ve finally found the perfect quotes for this time of year.

My all time favourite is the lyrics from “Favourite Things” sung by Maria in “The Sound of Music.” I was looking for something to put on my sign board that would carry us from winter into spring, and this was just the thing.

When I was younger I used to long for spring. Especially living in southern Ontario where it is perpetually spring. We have cold and snowy days but then we have days where you can smell spring (false spring I should say).

It makes it so hard to stay in the winter mindset when you can feel warmth!

I still have a love/hate relationship with winter. Now that I’m older I’m not itching for spring like I used to. My years out west taught me you can’t wish winter away and if you try to wear spring clothes too early you will just be cold and miserable.

So I will not wish for spring until the calendar allows for it. E also loves winter, the snow is one of his favourite things, so how can I be upset about something that is a great activity for him?

Perfect Home Decor Quotes for February

So back to my sign board. I chose “Silver white winters that melt into springs.” (If you’re like me you are now singing this song on repeat and driving your husband crazy!) I love this song and this lyric is perfect for this time of year. No wishing away winter and no longing for spring. It’s contentment with both. The perfect quote!

Winter tends to drag on, the lack of sunshine and frustratingly long but short days get annoying but there is still beauty in it! I take comfort in knowing God created winter and He created spring to refresh us once it is time.

Whether you do sign boards or not I hope this quote helps you through the last stretch of this season into the warmer weather! February will be over soon and warmer weather (aka mud) will make its appearance before we know it. For now, look for some of your favourite things (like silver white winters) until we get there!
